Red Ribbon Week started after the unfortunate kidnapping of DEA agent “Kiki” in 1985.Kiki had been working undercover for over four years in Mexico.His efforts led to the top that resulted in the discovery of multimillion dollar narcodtics controlling an operation in Chihuahua,Mexico.They kidnapped Kiki and his pilot, Captain Alfredo Zavala-Avelar.
